Tweeter Temp Check #1, Sentiment Analysis Style

Twitter Sentiment Analysis #1

   By Ashur Baroutta

The aim of this project is to continue exploring different types of use cases/methods of AI/Machine Learning/Data Science applications. After stumbling upon the idea of Sentiment Analysis for text. The decision was made to examine the sentiment of twitter posts. The idea is to examine 100-1000 twitter posts by a given user(s) and try judging them on their sentiment(good or bad).

First, in order to analyze twitter content, a developer needs to apply for API access. We have done so and on 02/04/2022 have been granted Elevated access as our project demands more endpoints than the scope of the default essential api access anyone can apply for

In addition to having Twitter's API access, there are a number of other libraries we must import in order to complete our task. For the purpose of this project, we will be using the PyCharm ide and Python as our language of choice. The following are the libraries we've imported thus far.

With access to Twitter's API setup and having installed most of the relevant libraries. We've given thought to who's posts we want to analyze and we have chosen 2021 Nobel Prize in Pysiology or Medicine winner Ardem Patapoutian. Next week we will be importing a list of Dr. Patapoutian's tweets and working on identifying what elements of the data set we want to clean prior to analyzation.
